There are many benefits to waiting to find out the gender of your baby, and this post will outline just a few of my personal favorites! So let’s get right into it.
1. The wait is so worth it
In a world where we are inundated with technology and instant gratification, waiting to find out your baby’s gender is an opportunity to sidestep the modern world and get back to basics. It’s one of the best gifts you can give yourself.
2. shop for the essentials
Now, this may not sound like a benefit to some, but it’s nice to have some restrictions on what you can buy. Let’s face it, most baby clothes in the big department stores are not baby-neutral friendly; therefore, it’s hard to overdo it. You can find some lovely online stores with baby-neutral items, so please don’t lose sleep over not feeling “prepared.” Also, you can reuse your gender-neutral items, which is fabulous!
3. It’s a beautiful incentive during labor
Our ancestors didn’t have access to modern medicine or pain relief. They had to use the power of their body and mind. And let me tell you, mama, our bodies are fully capable of serving us in that way. One of the great incentives you can focus on during labor is meeting your baby for the first time and finally learning what their gender is!
4. Hearing your baby’s gender for the first time is the most memorable moment life has to offer
And after all that work, there is genuinely no better moment than hearing your spouse tell you the gender of your newborn baby. I’d go so far as to say it’s better than a marriage proposal or even your wedding day (but that’s just me).
5. The mystery is fun!
Waiting to find out your baby’s gender is different than what most people do. It’s fun to keep everyone guessing and trying to use their old wives’ tales on you. Also, it can be enjoyable to imagine your life both ways (having a boy or girl.)
6. you can focus your attention on what really matters
Let’s be honest. It doesn’t matter if you are having a boy or girl. You are going to be equally blessed either way. What matters is you are about to be a mommy, and your whole world is about to change in the best ways possible. So let’s not put too much pressure on the baby’s gender.
7. It allows you to Trust the maker of miracles
If you are a person of faith, you might find pregnancy and childbirth a very spiritual experience that requires a lot of trust in God, and knowing your baby’s gender is another example of that practice. Just remember, God has it written in the stars what your baby’s name is, what your baby will look like, and what gender your baby will be. So Sis, trust the maker of this miraculous process. I promise the wait will be worth it and absolutely magical!
You got this!
